Which lube can I use?
Here’s a general guide for choosing lubricant. Do your research and choose lubricants without irritating ingredients like: Glycerins, Nonoxynol 9, Petroleum Oils, Polyquaternium-15, Benzocaine, Sugars & Sugar Alcohols. Do not use flavored, scented or lubricants that claim to “tighten”.
Water-based: Good for general use. Can be used with any type of toy. One drawback of water-based is that they absorb into the skin quickly and may require frequent reapplication. For this reason, they are better suited for vaginal use than anal.
Silicone: Good for general use but especially great for anal toys and anal sex. Silicone lubricants don’t dry out quickly and provide more slip than water-based. However, silicone lubricants are not recommended for use on silicone toys as they can bind to the material and change the surface of the toy.
Hybrid: These are water-based with a small amount of silicone added. Hybrid lubes are like the best of both silicone and water-based worlds. Just make sure you research as always, and ensure the manufacturer hasn’t slipped in any questionable ingredients.
Oil-based: Only choose natural, plant-based oils. Regular, pure coconut oil is a great, convenient option because it’s naturally anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial. Just make sure your coconut oil is pure, organic and unrefined. Oil-based lubricants are not compatible with latex condoms, so only use them with your personal sex toys, or partners you are fluid-bound with. Oil-based lube can stain your sheets or clothes so take care when using.
How do I clean my toy?
Generally, mild soap and water is recommended for all products. Do not place in the dishwasher. Do not boil products with motors or battery cavities. We do not recommend the use of “toy cleaner”. For further questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Are all toys waterproof?
The toys that are waterproof are marked as waterproof. If a toy is marked as waterproof it is safe to use in the bathtub or shower. Never use any toy in very hot or boiling water. If a toy is marked as water resistant we do not recommend submerging it in water. Toys with a built-in charger or plug should never be used near water and spot-cleaned only while unplugged. Again, The Sensualist in not liable for any injury resulting from the use or misuse of any product.
I lost my toy charger, can I buy a new one?
We don’t carry replacement chargers. Please contact the brand manufacturer directly and they will be able to assist you.
What if the product I purchased causes an allergic reaction or injury?
